The chalet

The Old Chalet

The first stone was set at the beginning of the fifties, in a remote land where nobody lived in winter. Sheep and their shepherds were the only to venture in this place during summer.

However, this path between France and Italy was known since long, some ruins of Roman roads and buildings still exists near the pass.

The construction of this chalet was the start for the build up of the La Rosiere ski resort. The first ski lift was built at the beginning of the sixties.

The Mc Kinley Chalet was built over the basement of the first chalet. Because of this origin, the Mc Kinley is an absolute snow front cottage, at no more than 50 meters from the departure of the chair lifts and arrivals of the slopes. Click on the pictures and judge by yourself!

Outstanding scenery, quietness, sunny snow made terraces...  The Mc Kinley chalet offers you a unique place from where you can practice ski and snowboard without the hassle of travelling to the slopes, take a rest surrounded by the quiet and breath taking scenery, or just enjoy family life in a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

The village of the resort was developed a bit downhill, about 200 meters before the chalet where you will find most of the shops.

The access road to the Mc Kinley is a dead end in winter, since the pass is covered with snow.
